Owls rolling there way through Murfreesboro
1/13/2011 – The Owls have captured a 5-0 record in the Sun-Belt Conference versus Middle Tennessee State this evening. Tipoff was at the Murphy Center at 7pm.
Raymond Taylor was stellar with 26 points while Greg Gantt played most minutes with forty. Taylor was 7-7 from the line and dished out four assists plus two steals.
Everyone on the team received minutes this night. Second in scoring was Kore White with 11 and Jordan McCoy knocked down 10. As it seems, the triple threat factor coined by the Media sticks with this teams production model.
The second line of Alex Tucker collected 7 points, while Pablo Bertone had four. Tucker also went five for five from the free throw line.
Brett Royster added two more blocks to his all-time record, plus four rebounds and a steal to boot.
Middle Tennessee’s Jason Jones scored 20, went 6/8 from the line and had eight rebounds. MTSU’s James Washington went for 16, had two rebounds and was 6/7 from the line.
It is worth mentioning that FAU scored 18 points off turnovers versus MTSU’s 12. FAU’s bench points were 18 while MTSU’s had 9.
