Owls Basketball forms a cohesive unit; find themselves 6-0 in Sun-Belt Conference
1/15/2011 - All players got minutes in this contest for Coach Mike Jarvis and his staff, at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green, Kentucky versus WKU on Saturday night.
The streaking Owls, now 6-0 in Sun-Belt play and sporting a 14-6 overall record could just be the hottest team in the Conference. As outlined by http://fausports.com/, four players scored in double digits this night.
Leading was Greg Gantt with (18) points, followed by Raymond Taylor (17), Kore White (15) and Jordan McCoy with (10) points.
Raymond Taylor took on the lion’s share of minutes played with (39), followed by Greg Gantt’s (35). Several other players, including Alex Tucker (2 steals) with (30) and Kore White with (29) were there to be counted.
Kore White was 100% from the foul line, knocking down 3 of 3, as was Alex Tucker and Greg Gantt with 4/4 and 2/2 respectively.
Kore White collected 9 rebounds and Brett Royster had 7. Royster and White each had a blocked a shot this night.
FAU collected 16 points from there bench while WKU had 2. At 5:54 in the first half, the Owls had their largest lead of 15 points from a Brett Royster jumper.
Steffon Pettigrew from WKU had a nice game leading all scorers with (31), had nine rebounds and 2 steals. Sergio Kerush of WKU also knocked down (17) points on his own.
In the first half, WKU was shooting 39% from the field while FAU was at 57%. In the second half FAU shot 89% from the free throw line compared to WKU’s 60%.
