Lady Owls Soar to another Win away 2/20/2010, Troy, Alabama -- Leading the way to another win for FAU on the road was Brittney Bowe who collected a game high 24 points, and was 12 of 18 from the free throw line. "She's the one we look to, and as long as she gets a little bit of daylight shes gone through the lane." said Coach Chancellor Dugan.
Following close behind was all around contributer Lyrell Barfield with 13 points who went 2-for-2 from the free throw line. Breana Cone also added to the totals with 10 points of her own and 3 rebounds in 22 minutes played. "The reason Breana didnt play as many minutes was because we were fouling too much, as the case tonight with Jessica Knurick" stated Head Coach Chancellor Dugan after the game. Knurick managed to score 5 points and was 50% from the field in the contest.
As a team, the Owls shot 47.9% from the field, which was good enough to give them the victory with a final score of 78-67.
"In the begining of the Ball game I felt we didn't come out as intense as we could have, but things settled in thereafter" said Coach Dugan. As to the plans going into the next game, Dugan said "We intend to go from this win and get some rest as well as having short practices which will be all business"
The Troy ladies were backed by a 20 point performance from their star forward Donnette McNair who collected 11 rebounds. The lady Owls were focused on containing McNair, Troy's best player -- and found some relative success in doing so.
