Lady Owls schedule gives way to Cowgirls of University of Wyoming
What may have been a nice matchup today between the University of Wyoming and FAU turned out to be a grueling struggle with the heat and every other day matches during this spring break 2011 for FAU.
FAU was no less represented by the best, but three players of note kept the team out on court to put a stamp on the “never give up attitude.”
Virginia Augustin, Erica Mrazkova and Natasha Basma were still playing away after the remainder of the team sought a shady place to wind down from their matches.
Fellow player Redshirt RS Junior Hannah Findlay noted that “the girls do long distance and short distance training, quick steps drills and endurance runs.”
Head Coach Marcy Hora-Cava said after the five wins in a row streak, “I think today we played another solid team, and they have great depth. I think we are definitely physically and mentally spent, but that is not to take away anything from the other team.”
Hora-Cava went on to mention that the last three to finish included “Both Erica and Virginia, who are in phenomenal shape, and they can run down a lot of balls.” The main idea here is that that they generally draw longer matches.
As to Basma, she noted, “Basma fights to the last point, I can always expect something good from her.” The scores indicated a 7-0 sweep of both doubles and singles for the Cowgirls of Wyoming.
Subsequent to the end of the match, you could here the Cheer and happiness out of the Wyoming bunch and we can chalk that up to the joy the game of Tennis brings to its membership.
