NBA Basketball: LeBron James strikes new deal with Boston Group

Lebron James and Fenway Sports Management have come to terms in a mutually beneficial agreement on 4-7-11. Matching ownership with the Boston Red Sox, James is allowing his name to be associated with an interest in Professional Soccer.

Specifically, we mean Soccer as it relates to Liverpool FC of the English Premeir League. LRMR, James’ Management Company came to an understanding with Fenway Sports Group, and their ownership, including  John Henry and Tom Werner.

This agreement calls for an interest in Rousch-Fenway Racing of NASCAR. James already has ties to the sport of NASCAR in his Portfolio, and this will further increase his equity in projects.

ATP and ITF Tennis: Pere Riba Madrid prepared to make a difference

Coached by former Professional Tennis players Jordi Aresse and David D. Miguel, Riba Madrid comes from Barcelona, Spain. Madrid has been a pro since 2003. At only 22 years of age, he's got plenty of room in the tank to continue and make a difference in the game. He's won 9 tournaments outright, and compiled 5 Championships for doubles with a variety of partners. Mostly playing the European Circuit, he's reached the 2nd round at the Australian Open and Roland Garros in 2011 and 2010 respectively. His highest ranking has been #69 in the World, and was runner-up 13 times in singles and 4 times in doubles. You may find more information on this player here.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pere_Riba

Women's Basketball NCAA Championship - Danielle Adams and Texas A&M

One from the Big East, the other from the big 12 took their equal 13-3 records within conference to challenge each other for the Championships in Indianapolis. The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the Aggies of Texas A&M, were both built to reach this pinnacle. This later translated to holding up the NCAA Championship Trophy.

A big part of this victory goes to Danielle Adams. With her 30 points, and twenty-two points alone in the second half, she said “I was never going to let my team lose this game.” After the half we learned that Coach Gary Blair said to Adams “You should work inside and not to step back.”

With nine rebounds, 1 steal and one blocked shot to boot, Adams left her mark on the game that will go along for the ages. Tyra White also took on a lion’s share duties with 18 point and staying on the floor for a full 40 minutes. “She helped this team in the second half”, said Analyst of http://espn.go.com/  Trey Wingo.

For this game recap and box scores, go to http://espn.go.com/womens-basketball/

Tyra White also added a huge 3-pointer as the buzzer. This put the Aggies up 73-68 with 1:07 remaining. After Adams heard the instruction by Blair, she started nudging her way back into the paint and was nearly unstoppable at that point. Credits for this article go to Trey Wingo, Carol Lawson and Coach Carolyn Peck.

FAU Baseball - Heads held high halfway through Season

FAU Baseball may be losing a little momentum of late. To count, I think it might be 2 or 3 games in a row they have lost, and now its time for them to go back on the road. Their numbers in the left on base percentage have been dropping, which means less wasted time and more quality runners on base. It also indicates more hitting in the clutch. On April third, their total men left on Base (LOB) equalled 10. On the 5th, their LOB equalled six. This alone says they are improving. We always come back to pitching. Although the Owls on (4/3/11) used 3 pitchers, the following game (4/5/11) used 6. What may be the logic behind this is that the team wants to get the most out of each pitcher by utilizing the rotation. With a record of 17-12, they are by no means on an uphill climb. Perhaps your vote of confidence goes out to all the players giving it everything they got for their Coach and his staff. I know the team needs you cheering for them, and you can call 1-866-FAU-OWLS for tickets or read up on them here http://fausports.com/

Houston Clay Courts at River Oaks - Mardy Fish

We can look back to 2006 and find one of Mardy Fishes Championships at the Clay Courts. This week the Tour stops in Casablanca and the Clay Courts of River Oaks Country Club in Houston. As perscribed, Fish leaped over fellow Americans from last weeks rankings. He reached the Semi's at the Sony-Ericsson Open, and is now world number 11 on the ATP Tour. They say the real test comes after you've reached one of your goals. Your charachter and determination comes to the surface and once again you get tested. Perhaps having the life of a Tennis Professional is more hardwork than anything else. Tennis is a game of will and persistence. See http://atpworldtour.com/ for more. His work out results must be exactly what the Physio ordered. He was in a place in his life where a change was in order, and he was up to the challenge and is collecting the benifits of his hard work today. Thanks to Ryan F, Andy S. and John L. for their weekly meet-ups.

Djokovic takes SEO title with 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4) win over Nadal in Miami

If we take December into account on the Djokovic winning streak, it is 26-0. For 2011, he is 24-0 and continues to press on. According to http://www.espn.go.com/ Djokovic looked fresher at the end of the 3 1/2 hour match than his competitor. Is he spacing his tournaments around to maximize rest? Is he selecting ATP events wisely? One might come to that conclusion, based on his preparedness. His graceful strokes are a joy to watch. Djokovic has 2 Grand Slams to his credit, and is one year younger than Nadal. Compared to Nadals 9 and Federers 16, Djokovic has got a great opportunity for Grand Slams just like everyone else.

Tennis Rackets and Hockey Sticks

Here are two sports where you can compare Modalities. With Tennis rackets, either held by one hand or two can be compared to Hockey Sticks which utilize the stick for balance and leverage. The backhand, whether it is the sweeping motion or the flick (imparting spin on the ball or puck) makes it an effective shot on both surfaces. Comparing the two, we see that their are two sides on either end of the ice and court. One divided by the blue line, the other by the net. The nets also compare in both sports. One must go in and the other must go over. Often making the comparison, Hockey uses the replay for referees to figure out whether a goal has been scored or not. Tennis also has the simulated shot spot to determine if a shot was in or out. In Both sports it is important to use a critical and focused eye - especially on TV. That is why Hockey is great live as is tennis. Determining the graceful stroke of Roger Federer on TV is not the same as watching the ball with its 3 dimensional shape move through the court. All in all, both sports are worthy for crossover, leaving room for growth and creativity.

McDonalds and Value

Spent alot of time at McDonalds working on my Computer. Since I got DSL service, I find myself staying home working on the Computer more. I can easily visit the local stores in Lake Worth to get a fill-up. How could you go wrong with McDonalds. The dollar menu alone with the new themed restaurants are a savings. Fifty's and Sixties music playing on the Juke Box and all the sports photos make it a comfortable place for the sportsminded and news minded alike. Just around the corner from FAU in Boca you will find a similar themed McDonalds with all their TV's focused on the latest game or event. Let's not forget CNN who filter through these themed restaurants as well. Where can you get a side salad with your choice of dressing garnished with carrots and healthy greens. I like the Ceasar Dressing, some like Ranch, Italian or Vinigrette, oh - and they also have croutons too. From the dollar menu (also Yogurt Parfait for $.99) you can have burgers, fries and small drinks (refillable) to boot. I happen to be money conscience so this is another reason to go if you are on a slim budget. So all in all I want to thank McDonalds for there restaurants. They also advertize charities you can make a donation too right at the pick up desk or window. McDonalds is not just burgers anymore, and you can stay on your health conscience topics with there dollar menu and salads with chicken also. They have both varieties of chicken, fried or grilled.

SEO - Bringing out the Best in all of us

So far this years Sony-Ericsson Open has been a very exciting and fun-filled event. Do any of you all plan on coming down to Key Biscayne to watch the events as they unfold? For those of you who are, we hope to see you their. Take I95 South to the Rickenbacker Causeway exit and get on the Island after the toll booth. Its about 3 miles in on the right side, where plenty of parking is availabile, and if you want to bring snacks, your more than welcome. Refreshments are served for a reasonable price and the best of the best will be their. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Roddick and the ladies too. You might see a celebrity or two and the players camp in the stadium.

SEO - Russian confidential

Russia shows great results, as three players from the Country are represented going into the round of 16. They are Maria Sharapova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Vera Zvonareva. Serbia has two players from their home state in Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic. Vera Zvonareva of Russia (#3 player in the World) has a steady game. Perhaps she is not the most powerful player on Court, but her game lends itself to precision, stroke stability, and court creativity. Ana Ivanovic has proved she has what it takes to win a grand slam, winning the 2010 French Open at Roland Garros. Maria Sharapova has similar abilities as she has won three Grand Slams to her credit. All in all, the Sony-Ericsson Open is shaping up to be great performances from the Ladie’s side. We will bring you up to date on the Men shortly.

SEO - Caroline Wozniacki and Coaching

Just a side note, as a writer - one can look back on what one wrote and have second thoughts about writing over. I can see where my mistakes are and notice my hubris about making a point when I'm guessing or when I go over what I see on the court. In any case, I am not a Coach - although I have Coached before - but in no particular way put myself out their as a Professional Tennis Coach today.

SEO - Caroline Wozniacki

After having seen (DEN) Caroline Wozniacki on Center Court, with her three set victory over (GER) Andrea Petkovic, I had a thought. They were about crisp groundstrokes and volleys, the good serve and movement around the court and overall play. Its no mistake how important a serve can be to a players game. With pinpoint accuracy, Wozniacki's game from the baseline has been sufficient to catapult her inside the top 10, and based on her age (21), she has a bright future. I won't be the last guy that says it, but being ranked number 1 on the WTA Tour is evidence enough that this is going to be a great player.

Conversions and Break Points in Tennis

What's all this talk about Conversions and Break points anyway? Well, just like defense, holding a touchdown from being scored on the 1 yard line in Football, conversions and Break Points form this similar statistic in Tennis. As the numbers go up, the player who gets more Conversions on his break point chances generally means victory. Tennis is not just a sport for a lifetime, but there is no time limits as well. Sometimes matches last for days, much the way American John Isner ended his match on the second day of play at last years Championships at Wimbledon. That never give up or never give in attitude can solidify you as a real gritty player. Players knowing you will grind out a match will send a message to others that you better bring all you got because i'll camp out if I have to, so I get the result I want.

SEO - Victoria Azarenka 2011 Champion

It was in 2005 that Victoria Azarenka splashed onto the Tennis scene as a Junior, winning both the US Open and the Australian Open Championships in that same year. Back in 05', I saw the US Open Junior Championships on the Tennis Channel. Already serious about her play, she took a Professional tone and quality to the match on the outer courts. This year at the Sony equals her second Championship on Key Biscayne in Miami. Her last Sony took place in 2009 where she got through players such as Svetlana Kuznetsova, Anna Chakvetadze, Samantha Stosur and Serena Williams. Her 5'11" frame and sturdy pysique accounts for a progression of skills through the Junior Ranks. Her homeland in Belarus, was once part of the USSR. Today she trains out of Arizona and has a career record of 219-102 for a winning percentage of just under .500%. She has 7 career titles and 1 ITF Championship. Her greatest finish at the Grand Slams were the Quarters at The French and Wimbledon in 2009, and the Australian Open in 2010. Training for Speed; Whole Body Analysis, Replenishment, and Innovative Methods
Having first come onto the scene several years ago, training for speed became a staple of athletes wanting to eclipse their top performances on the field, track and court.

Whether it’s at a football combine or the oval track, a focus on speed with video analysis has been studied for several years.

Its popularity in South Florida gained attention with speed training by Cris Carter, (Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings) former wide receiver in the NFL. (http://myspeedtrainer.com)

Also add to this list former MLB Pitcher Danny Graves (Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, and NY Mets) who works out of extreme speed in San Antonio, Texas. (http://sports-fitness-training.com/).

You might also be advised to the Nick Bollettieri/IMG Academies (http://imgacademies.com/) and Chris Evert Academy (http://evertacademy.com) in Bradenton and Boca Raton, Florida, respectively.

The similarities between different centers of speed enhancement have many things in common. Nutrition is one topic, timing is another and endurance is yet a third.

Moreover is video analysis here (http://dartfish.com/) and (http://myspeedtrainer.com/tips.html) where you can receive free advice and Nutritional guidelines in downloadable PDF files.

Giving yourself the best chance while in high school, college or professional sport cannot be underestimated, especially if you want to reach your full potential through training at a well-equipped facility.

"Thanks Eddie for getting me in the best shape.  We did it again, Beijing 2008, thanks for your guidance."—Misty May Treanor, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Athens 2004, and Beijing 2008.
