Rivalry continues as the Owls play Troy this weekend

This week ends game versus Troy may be an uphill battle. It’s also interesting to mention that most players on the Trojans and Owls are underclassman, which can be fruit full to a nascent team or veteran squad. Things can go either way here, so attention to detail is important.

Troy is as deep as FAU with respect to the position of Running back. So far, Troy's Shawn Southward has 495 yards combined with an average of 5.2 yards per carry and 5 touchdowns.

DuJuan Harris is someone to watch too. He contributed 416 yards with an average of 5.8 per carry and 4 touchdowns this season. From the QB position, Troy has Cory Robinson.

Robinson carries with him 21 TD’s and 15 INT’s, this season.

Robinson and his offense equal 14th overall in the nation. This includes every NCAA Division I Football team.

Troy’s record in the Sun-Belt is 6-5 overall and 5-2 versus in conference foes. FAU is 4-7 overall and 3-4 within conference. Troy is ranked second place in conference.

FAU sits ahead of three other in conference teams. They include WKU in 9th, North Texas in 8th and Louisiana-Lafayette in 7th. This in-conference rivalry has become sort of a thorn in the foot of FAU.

The last time the Owls defeated Troy was in 2007. Game time is 2pm at Ft. Lauderdale’s Lockhart Stadium.
