FAU falls in overtime in the Burrow versus WKU
2/25/2010: The excitement Thursday night may have been palpable. The Owls were even at the end of the game, resulting in overtime.
Hear is how the numbers broke down.
Two top scorers of the WKU Hill Toppers each had nineteen. They were center Jeremy Evans and Sun- Belt Player of the week, guard A.J. Slaughter. You might have thought that star forward Steffphon Pettigrew would have come up with the high score.
A well rounded player is very important. Pettigrew had sixteen points, only three off the high scorers. Add to that his near sixty percent from the field, pitching in with a three, and pulling down three rebounds in thirty eight minutes, is just as impressive.
Another thing to consider is how the Hill Toppers shot as a team. To unearth a story, you may only need to look at how both team shot from the floor. We see that WKU shot nearly 50% from the field while FAU shot a cumulative 42%.
For FAU, high scorer was Greg Gantt with nineteen. Brett Royster scored sixteen and Raymond Taylor had fourteen. In addition, Brett Royster captured ten rebounds, seven defensive rebounds and three offensives.
You notice anything outstanding when you look at statistics. With four rebounds of his own, 5’5” Ray Taylor collected all his from the defensive side. A guy that is 5’5” who pulls down rebounds can be looked at as outstanding. You might also see that Taylor is strong and sturdy and can mix it up with anyone.
