Baseball’s Opening Day, a celebration of years past and Springing up a new Season

The Pride of Hofstra, and the Owls of Florida Atlantic looked upon this day to bring forth the proverbial “starting the season off on the right foot.”

It has come to pass that the Owls swept the best of three games with the Pride of Hofstra. Timely hitting, fielding and Coaching were all at the heart of these games.

It wouldn’t be unfamiliar territory to understand how Coach John McCormack and his staff prepare their team. With their plucky group for day in and day out situations, this team is ready for the challenge.

Some would say baseball can be one of the most challenging games to play in all of sport.

Many years of practice and self belief are central to this formula. The needs for time of deep and steady concentration are called on for the pitcher, hitter and fielder between the lines.

If you start to play baseball, you would be doing yourself a great favor by keeping your head in the game. For someone who likes to write, I have no explanation but to say it takes a special kind of player to fall in line at this level of the game.

If you’ve ever met a Professional Baseball player or any player for any sport, you start to realize that the Pro is polished, outstanding and fits the roll well.

You often don’t see a Pro unprepared for meetings with the public. What you begin to learn is that the Pro does not concede in taking his life’s work seriously.

It’s with the sweep that FAU shepherds in a new season. With the Sun-Belt Championship behind them, get ready to be one of the Owl faithful.
