Coaches Mike Jarvis & Chancellor Dugan talk on ESPN 760
1/22/2010: With host Ken Lavicka of ESPN 760, a crowd gathered front and center for the inspiration and basketball talk with Mike Jarvis.

When asked about winning, Jarvis noted. “When you win games you usually play great defense, and Brett Royster made some blocks and Shavar Richardson, with his 31 point game gave us a good chance at winning in Troy. But as you may know, when Royster makes a block it's usually because someone missed there man on coverage” said Jarvis.

Although FAU dropped their last game at Troy in Alabama, there is still a chance that the Owls can claim that first round bye. Mathematically it is possible, as long FAU claims victory twice with a day of rest in between games.

On 2/25/2010 they have in Conference rival Western Kentucky University, followed by Middle Tennessee State on the 27th.

Jarvis further commented. “Sometimes you have to play error free defense, and you will also have a situation where guys are fouling a little too much. That was the situation in our last game at Troy. In that instance, we take our chances with this team anyway." said Coach Jarvis.

Troy
commit 15 fouls to FAU’s 20.

“A lot of factors go into winning on the road, we won four away games this year, which gives us a good position in the Sun-Belt Conference.” said Coach Jarvis.

Next, the host got a chance to interview FAU Head Women’s Basketball Coach Chancellor Dugan. “We are fighting for a first round bye in the Sun-Belt Conference as well. The game will be Televised, so were expecting some big plays from our players”. said Coach Dugan.

The games will be broadcast on Comcast TV.

The Lady Owls sport a 14-12 overall record and in Conference they are 10-6. The Women also play WKU and MTSU with a day of rest in between before the Sun-Belt Conference Tournament.

Lavicka book ended the broadcast Coach Jarvis. "The girls are playing excellent, and there doing a great job. We are right behind them in the stats. And we want to thank Bostons on the Beach for their hospitality." Stated Jarvis.

You may find Bostons on the Beach at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and A1A on the south side. For tickets to any of the games, please call 1-866-FAU-OWLS or FAX at 561-297-3963 or at http://www.fausports.com/
